Next Generation Sony PlayStation Vita will be available in February 22nd 2012

Sony officially announced today that its next-generation handheld console, the PlayStation Vita, will be available in the U.S., Canada, Latin America and Europe February 22, 2012.

“PlayStation Vita will redefine the traditional boundaries of the game and erase the lines between entertainment and reality,” said Jack Tretton, Sony Computer Entertainment America CEO.

PS Vita has a five inch (12.7 centimeters), multi-touch OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) screen with a pillow in the back for “touch, grab, draw, push and pull ‘finger movements. The handset also has front and rear facing cameras.

Users can use the device to watch videos, listen to music and connect to web sites and social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

The PlayStation Vita with a base price of $ 249.99 to $ 299.99 SKU-Fi and 3G model.
